Top 10 Fresh Dog Food Brands of 2026 - Compared & Ranked
- 10 brands compared

How we rank
We compared twelve dog food brands on what their own sites document: the format (fresh-cooked, raw, freeze-dried, air-dried or kibble), how meals are formulated and by whom, the safety and sourcing standards the brand prints (human-grade, USDA facilities, pathogen control, AAFCO), whether it ships by subscription or sells through retailers, and the first-order offer printed the day we checked.
Our editor then set the order by hand. Two kibble-first brands from our list, Jinx and The Honest Kitchen, were not ranked against the fresh and raw brands and appear below the list instead.

Do you earn money from the links on this page? Yes. If you buy through a link here we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Our top four picks pay us a commission; most brands lower on the list currently pay nothing. See the disclosure at the bottom of the page.
Who decides the order? Galen Schneider, the editor named below. One person, not a formula.
What do the badges mean? Best Overall Pick is what we would point most dog owners to. Premium Pick is the option we would choose if price were not the deciding factor.
Why are there no prices? Fresh food is priced per dog after a quiz about weight, age and activity, so the button always takes you to the brand's live plan builder rather than a number that would not apply to your dog.
How often is this page updated? The date at the top is the last time we re-checked every brand's site. We update it when a brand changes its recipes, its terms or its offer.
